In our daily routine, we are surrounded by many single-use items, be it plastic or glass etc and throw them to thrash immediately without giving second thought. With little awareness, some of these single-use items can get new form to be usable again.

Something similar happened with us, as we found many glass bottles from our daily routine use like spread bottles and were wondering how to reuse this empty ones instead of simply throwing them to thrash. Of course, it is difficult to store all of them, but we can make use some of them for home decor using some creative ideas. Some days passed by and meanwhile, we went to one coastal place for short break. We bought some fish toy for our child to play in beach. Also we collected some white sea marbles as memory. As it happens, kid’s lost interest about the toys and we were busy with daily schedules like office, house-hold work etc.
All it takes to uncover hidden gems is a clear eye, an open mind and a willingness to search for inspiration in items, Other people aren’t willing or able to see. – Michel De Montaigne
One fine morning, we had bread with jam as breakfast and found another would be empty bottle. We cleaned it. Kept same marbles which we collected from beach. Put the toy fish in that bottle and filled with water. Found one house plant close to our house and added that to this new flower pot. No rocket science in this but just to connect similar unused items to give new meaningful form.

Author of the book Getting Dressed and Parking cars, Alok Kejriwal, found his startup idea while cleaning the his kid’s room thrash. You might have done something similar to reuse or decorate your house with single-use items. Please do share your experience.

We can resuse plastic bottles to water plants while on vacation or away from home as detailed out here.
